the HIGH ON YOGA way

HIGH ON YOGA was born in a city craving for euphoria so we came up with our vision of joy and yogic ecstasy that requires only one ingredient – YOU; your mind, body and breath.

The way to HIGH ON YOGA is a journey to feeling free and blissful via a combination of asana and breath, repetition and trance, sound and sweat.

WE ARE HIGH ON YOGA

WE ARE HIGH ON YOGA

The tradition of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga we follow in our method gives a straightforward recipe for a yoga high. Ashtanga Vinyasa is known for its physically challenging vigorous asana sequences but there is much more to that. First you bring heat and fire through movement to burn the way to clarity in your body and mind, then through repetition you come to a trance, once in trance and in your own centre you reach that bliss and joy we call here a yoga high.

In our studio you can either try our own vigorous asana style based on Ashtanga Vinyasa or follow the traditional approach to Ashtanga though the Mysore-style course.

Patanjali, the ancient yogi who codified the original Ashtanga yoga in eight so-called limbs, talks about enstasy, or samadhi. From this enstasy there's just one step to what is the ultimate goal of yoga – to freedom (called moksha or kaivalya in ancient Sanskrit language). There is nothing more beautiful than liberation through yoga – you discovering yourself in a joyful fashion, you connecting with yourself in the deepest way possible. But the goal is never as fun as the journey itself.

The ancient Ashtanga yoga, as described by Patanjali, mentions the right attitude, lifestyle, connecting to one's self, focus and meditation next to pranayama and asana.
